| This aazhvaar personified the sri vaishnava
creed that devotion to the Lord's devotees is
just as good, if not better than, devotion to
the Lord himself. Being a brahmin of
advanced age did not prevent him from seeing
the greatness of the child prodigy,
nammaazhvaar. Madhurkavi became
nammaazhvaar's disciple and sang 11 songs,
all in praise of his Lord, nammaazhvaar!
